    I personally don’t mind the noisyness of Arrma. My 3s granite is a little noisy too. But that thing is a friggin wheelie beast. That round bowl area where you’re driving looks fun as hell.

    One thing I don’t think most people take into consideration with Arrma is just how much heavier their cars are compared to most other comparable brands at the same scales. My buddy has the 6s Arrma notorious. And it’s almost as heavy as my traxxas XRT. Heavy duty parts add weight. So a heavier car has more potential for breakage when jumping, crashing, etc, than others. So far I’ve had real good luck with my 3s granite and 4s outcast. Great video man.

    I bought my car from Amazon drove probably 8 times then my esc burst into flames while the car was just sitting there from a lite drift run I did. Sending it back for a refund and I bought an infraction because there’s more stl downloads and options for the truck plus I can literally burn the wheels off in only 3 runs. Truly these cars go 60mph unless you wanna add the higher gearing and risk the fire anymore cause my car went into limp mode trying the higher gear

    Fishing line works pretty well to tighten up stripped screws in plastic. Just put a couple of pieces of it in the hole/part and put the screw in. You really can't hurt anything and if you CAREFULLY start the screw straight, you might be shocked how much torque you can put on the screw without stripping it again. If you do, put more lines into the hole, and try again. I bought a roll of thin line like 20 years ago and I think I've used about six or 7 feet of it. Another thing I've noticed is a lot of people don't use the clutch on their hex drivers, they just lock it or crank it up to the max, and either strip out the head, or the part the screw is going into. I tighten up screws by hand, and run the clutch on my Milwaukee and Bosch drivers very low. The hammering will oftentimes get the screw started out without any danger of messing up the socket. Another thing that will help out people with stubborn screws and nuts, especially wheel nuts that the factory really goes over the top on is to buy a nutdriver with a bigger diameter handle. The small ones a lot of RC tools have make it really difficult, when the bigger diameter nut driver makes it easy. My Granite's wheel nuts totally stripped out the plastic wrench Arrma sent with the truck, so I bought a pair of cheap nutdrivers off Amazon for $6 each, and the wheels weren't a big deal at all to remove. The way the wheels are shaped prevented any of my 7mm(?) 1/4" hex drives from being able to go onto the nuts. I tried a half dozen and none were shaped correctly to get the nuts off. I saw a video on YT and just searched Amazon for the same driver used in the video, and they seem great for the price. Search for Auvotuis 7mm for the Granite, other sizes are available on the same page.

    4:41 could also mean when screws back out of plastic that have never been taken out before, for example traxxas maxx upper hinge pin screws, the front right and rear left constantly back out

    4:36 hey! That's me! Haha awesome man! And yeah, I did figure out the hard way that over time, the plastic does wear out. I have a little Hyper Go I never used power tools on but I just had to do so many repairs that I finally had to give in and find all the bad parts. Ended up scrapping it and buying a new one.. there were too many bad threads! ☹️😅 Thanks for the cool response AJ!

    All rigs will break and it's usually driver error. Usually when something breaks when it shouldn't have its from a previous impact that should have broke it but only cracked or weakened it enough for the next jolt to finish it off. What's unacceptable for me is poor design and engineering. Things like Traxxas electronics in general and proprietary parts, pieces, and plugs.

    Oh yeah. The stock hubs and bearings on this rig are not very tough. But this is a 6S rig issue across the lineup. I just replace the entire hub with Hot Racing hubs. The HR hubs use oversized bearings. Reduces maintenance. Takes a bigger beating. Removes chance of having the ball pop out of the socket. And it it looks cool.

  • @edwinlomonaco6754
    @edwinlomonaco6754 7 днів тому

    The solution for the drive cups is to install M2C RACING diff cups. Unfortunately this is common across the 6S lineup. Once you install the M2C diff cups you don't have that problem. Also even the EBS V2 you gotta remove the spacer at the end of the lower arm. Another issue is the stock shock cap bushings. They're a rubber sleeve style. And there's a lot of slop. Again install M2C delrin bushings. Problem solved. Realistically with any rtr that is mass produced you should be taking the diffs out to fill and or replace the fluids to spec or liking. All fasteners that require loctite should be checked. All before the first run. I still feel that this EBS V2 offers a lot of rc for 700 bux. Compared to anything else at this price point.

    Funny you mention it being incredibly noisy. I thought I was the only one that got bothered by that. I bought the 6s Big Rock after it came out and dealt with the same problem. No matter what I did, I could not get it to quiet down. I finally got so annoyed I went back to the hobby shop in early April and traded it for a new one. I had also bought the Kraton exb and neither of these has had this problem however unlike the first Big Rock, for these two I have not changed the pinion gears. Never had that problem with the Talion or Mojave but I am wondering if these new ones don't respond well to pinion gear changes.

    Great video AJ. Have to agree with your assessment. I think there's too much of an assumption in the hobby that "bigger, 1/8 scale, and metal" automatically equals "fewer issues" and that's just not the case. Everyone I've seen who speaks honestly about this truck is having more problems with it than I have with my 1/10 scales that cost 1/3 as much.

      Same with me, broke a front arm going full speed into my Buick, obviously my fault. Then I broke a rear arm from a bad landing with 20 feet of altitude. 15 batteries bashing it just as hard and no breakages yet. Landing on packed clay most of the time too.
